Data Sovereignty
A page for legal, compliance, and procurement teams. What sovereignty means in practice when your data runs on Synapse Net.
Regulatory Alignment
The architecture is designed to support compliance with the regulatory frameworks that govern regulated industries in Europe and allied jurisdictions — including DORA, GDPR, NIS2, and the emerging obligations of the EU AI Act.
Jurisdictional Choice
Customer workloads are bound to a selected sovereign node. The planned mesh spans six continents, each governed by local law. Your data does not traverse a jurisdiction you did not select — including in failover and routing scenarios.
Extraterritorial Resistance
European workloads can be deployed to nodes that sit outside the legal reach of US extraterritorial data-access frameworks (e.g. the CLOUD Act). This is a structural property of where the node is located and who operates it — not a contractual promise.
Post-Quantum by Default
Transport encryption is built natively on NIST-certified post-quantum algorithms (ML-KEM and ML-DSA). Long-lived secrets are protected against "Harvest Now, Decrypt Later" interception from day one — without customer-side cryptographic engineering.
Auditability
Because our reasoning layer measures its own logical consistency, regulated customers receive a mathematically observable audit trail of model decisions — the kind of transparency that high-risk AI obligations increasingly require.
How It Works
The sovereignty guarantee is enforced at the hardware layer by VISUM and at the transport layer by the Synapse Protocol. Technical detail for engineering reviewers is available on the What We Do page.
